Here are the reasons why LED strip light certification is important and how it can assist you in making an informed decision.
Joineonlux supply professional and honest service.
One of the primary reasons for considering LED strip light certification when selecting your partner supplier is safety assurance.
LED strip light certification ensures compliance with industry standards. These certifications are awarded based on stringent criteria set by regulatory bodies or recognized organizations.
Certification is a testament to the quality of LED strip lights provided by a supplier. To obtain certification, the products undergo thorough testing and evaluation to ensure their adherence to specific performance parameters.
In a highly competitive market, product differentiation or the unique selling proposition (USP) is key to standing out from the crowd.
Certification plays a vital role in accessing specific target markets. Many certifications are region-specific and required by regulatory authorities to ensure product safety and compliance.
Trust is a crucial factor in business relationships. Collaborating with a partner supplier who possesses LED strip light certifications helps build trust and credibility with your customers.
We will further delve deeper into the significance of LED strip certifications, common certification types, and the process of obtaining them.
Certifications serve as a guarantee of quality, demonstrating that a product has been thoroughly tested and meets specific standards. LED strip lights can greatly benefit from certifications as they provide assurance to both buyers and sellers. With numerous LED strip options available in the market, certifications enable consumers to make informed choices and trust in the safety and quality of the product they are purchasing.
LED strip certifications can be classified in three primary ways:
Optional Certifications are not legally required but are available for manufacturers and suppliers to showcase additional product quality and compliance examples are CE and ETL.
Certification Requirements: LED strip certifications typically cover areas such as safety, electromagnetic radiation, and energy efficiency. Here are some of the list of common certification requirements:
Product Documentation and Traceability
Region of Application:
Different certifications are applicable in specific countries or regions. For example, FCC Certification is required in the US, while CE certification is required for the European Union (EU). Other examples are:These certifications are predominant factors when it comes to getting that trust and first step on the door in the supply-chain channel. Partnering with a factory direct supplier that carries certified products gives you that access to the market that you want to target, meeting the required product per regulations, and getting that extra push as part of your unique selling point to your clients and customers. For example, in California, there are strict requirements on Class 1 and Class 2 low voltage transformers and HitLights can help you fill that out.
LED strip lights can be certified by various organizations, each with its own set of standards. Here are some of the most common certifications in the LED strip industry:
UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is a renowned safety certification company that has been operating since . UL provides safety certifications for electrical products in over 100 countries, ensuring that products meet stringent safety standards.
As part of our commitment in providing premium and high quality LED strips, HitLights LED strips are UL listed and most of our low voltage transformers, dimmable drivers, and power supplies are also UL certified, you can check out this link - UL Listed Products.
ETL (Electrical Testing Laboratories) is the certification division of Intertek Testing Laboratories. ETL offers testing, inspection, and certification services for a wide range of industries. Their certification ensures that products comply with relevant safety standards. This is an optional certification that we have on some of our dimmable drivers, you can check out the products in this link - ETL Listed Dimmable Drivers.

An FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certificate confirms that a product meets the applicable requirements set by the FCC in the United States. It indicates that the product has been tested and certified by an accredited laboratory. True to our drive to provide premium products, HitLights products such as low voltage transformers, power supplies, and drivers are FCC certified.
CE (Conformité Européenne) certification is necessary for products sold in the European Union. It assures compliance with health, safety, and environmental protection standards within the EU. The CE mark affixed to a product indicates that it has been assessed and found to meet all relevant EU requirements. This optional certification is also available in most of our LED strip product listings.
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive restricts the use of certain hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment. Products sold in the EU must meet RoHS requirements, and obtaining a RoHS certificate demonstrates compliance with these environmental criteria. This directive ensures consumer safety, promotes peace of mind, and fosters a sustainable future by restricting hazardous substances, similar to the CE certification, our UL Listed LED strips have also undergone this certification.
CCC (China Compulsory Certification) is a mandatory certification system for products sold in the Chinese market. It ensures that products conform to Chinese safety standards and can be sold throughout the country. The certification process involves rigorous testing and submission of detailed product information to a government-approved testing lab.
These are just a few examples of the many certifications available for LED strip lights. Each certification signifies compliance with specific standards and regulations, giving consumers confidence in the product's quality and safety.
While the specific process for each certification may vary, let's take a closer look at the example of obtaining UL certification for LED strip lights:
Visit the UL website and find the "Contact Us" page for relevant information and forms required for submitting product samples for testing.
Submit a sample product to UL for testing. The sample must meet the requirements outlined by UL, and transportation fees are typically the responsibility of the organization seeking certification.
UL evaluates the sample product in various aspects, ensuring it meets safety standards and requirements. If the product passes all tests, it is considered compliant; otherwise, it may be rejected.
For manufacturers, UL may arrange an on-site factory inspection to ensure that both the product testing and the manufacturing process align with safety standards.
Once the product is verified as safe and the factory inspection (if required) is passed, UL issues a certification. The certified business can display the UL logo on their products, signifying compliance with UL standards. Periodic audits may be conducted to ensure ongoing compliance. HitLights UL certification IFDR.E, you can also check the link to verify the products listed and tested by UL certification.
This certification alone, benefits our partner professionals and customers with enhanced credibility, trust, access to specific markets, quality assurance, and safety of our products.

TPRlights, Westgate, WAC, Linea, Prizm are pro products. Anything that you find online from internet sellers or Amazon is junk.Okay, which, if any, of these companies will even sell anything to a retail customer who only wants 30 or 40 feet of LED strip? For several them I have to go through a local manufacturer's rep. I've talked to those manufacturer's reps before and they won't even give the time of day to a retail customer. They are set up to sell by the pallet or container usually, not a piece or two to a one time customer.

Same is true for all those others that I listed, and more. You shouldn't have to talk to a rep. That's Viking's job.
Westgate says Viking Electric sells them, but Westgate is not a brand listed on the Viking Electric line card.
What I am looking for is a flat LED strip that comes in a roll and is powered by 12 volt or 24 volt DC. Does Lithonia make that?Misunderstood. What I know as LED tape. Entertainment industry. I like Rosco: https://us.rosco.com/en/products/brand/roscoled-tape
Never thought I would be the guy to defend Amazon, put I bought a roll of dimmable LED strip lights for my kitchen cabinets and they've been running some 4-6 hours a day for 8 years. The adhesive is junk, but not a single dead LED... Redid another kitchen recently with the same products, no issues.I did that in my mom's kitchen. Yes none of the LED's are dead completely but the whole strip has dimmed noticably. I would guess it's at least down to 70%, which is considered end of life.

My dimmer is programmed to 80% when the "full" scene is triggered and 10% for the night light. I don't have a fresh strip to compare, but it feels like they are still operating at 100% of what they were new.

After 17,000 hours? No.I'll put it this way, if they were brand new I'd leave them a 5 star review. They are exactly the brightness that I require and if they weren't I still have headroom to use up at my dimmer. Part of me wants them to suck. I take a certain satisfaction in paying a bit more, not feeding Amazon, and getting exactly what I want without compromise. I do this routinely with specialty tools. Unfortunately, I can't find fault with these dumb lights.
What I am looking for is a flat LED strip that comes in a roll and is powered by 12 volt or 24 volt DC. Does Lithonia make that?Got mine for about $8 on ebay 10 years ago. I m using them as under cabinet lights in the kitchen . They are still going strong.
Does anyone truly make really good LED strip lights that last? I'm talking the kind that usually come on a five meter roll and take 12 volt or 24 volt DC.Did you find LED strip lights that you're happy with? I was about to order on aspectled.com and now doing more research.
I bought some 24 volt LED strips from a local company that has a local warehouse and doesn't seem to be a fly by night company. They provide lighting for lots of local projects. I paid more in expectation they might provide a better product. The strips had a bad section from the minute they were installed 18 months ago. They have been run about 125 hours now and have light ten dead or dim sections. I didn't bother to get the lights replaced under warranty at first as I was in a time crunch and the warranty is not up yet . I'm not certain that new lights under warranty won't just have the same issue.
Did you find LED strip lights that you're happy with? I was about to order on aspectled.com and now doing more research. No, I am still using the original LED light strips with more and more dead sections. The light strips ended up way too bright so I still have plenty of light. I haven't wanted to spend $100 to $200 for quality LED light strips just yet.
How are you powering the strips?I should have clarified, these are 12v. I see the OP wants 24v.
I had issues with LED strips dying early when I was underpowering them.
I should have clarified, these are 12v. I see the OP wants 24v.Badass Sauna.
I power them with solar. I was given a brand new Vaisala Remote Weather station. I took out the junk I didn't need and use the small solar panel, controller, 2 12v batteries and weatherproof enclosure.
The box is mounted on the back of the sauna, the panel is currently propped off the ground, but will be mounted on the eaves or roof of the sauna soon.
